Lumiere Logo – Capstone

Objective:
As part of my senior capstone, I developed the Lumiere logo as the centerpiece of a full branding campaign. The goal of this project was not only to create a logo but to practice the professional process of building a brand from scratch — including client meetings, interpreting brand values, refining visual identity, and delivering a consistent, purposeful design.

Client Concept:
Lumiere is an ethical skincare company that focuses on eco-conscious beauty solutions made with natural ingredients. The brand emphasizes sustainability, minimalism, and radiance — using the French word Lumière, meaning “light,” to express how their ingredients nourish skin and create a healthy glow.

Design Process:
The message “simpler is better” guided every decision in this branding campaign. To reflect this, I chose a clean serif typeface and customized it to feel modern yet grounded. The font strikes a balance between elegance and minimalism — traits that mirror the company’s core values of clean beauty and transparency.

One of the most striking features of the logo is the customized letter “i” in Lumiere. I replaced the dot with a fire-like flame, which symbolizes warmth, light, and transformation — all relevant to both skincare and personal care. Radiating rays extend subtly from the flame to reinforce the “glow” concept — a nod to the company’s natural, skin-brightening ingredients.

Strategy & Branding Execution:
This wasn’t just a design exercise — it was a full client experience simulation. I jotted down how a fictitious “client” wants and need , created brand direction, mood boards, values, and ideal customer personas. The process included sketching, digital drafts, feedback sessions, and final delivery of the logo along with brand usage guidelines.

Outcome:
The final logo successfully reflects Lumiere’s identity: clean, radiant, ethical, and intentional. It speaks directly to eco-conscious consumers looking for transparency and simplicity in their skincare choices. Through this project, I strengthened my ability to lead a branding process end-to-end, interpret client vision, and turn values into visual language.
